Aloe vera gel recipes: 8 easy drinks

Not everyone likes the natural taste of aloe vera at first. These eight drink ideas keep Forever's recommended amount, 40 ml in a large glass, and change everything else.

The basic rule

For each recipe: one 40 ml dose of aloe vera gel, in about 240 ml of liquid, as Forever's directions say. Shake the bottle before pouring, make the drink when you are about to drink it, and do not go over three doses a day. A graduated measuring cup saves guesswork.

8 easy drinks

  1. Cool water, lemon and mint. 40 ml Aloe Vera Gel, 240 ml cool water, the juice of a quarter lemon, a few mint leaves. Stir and add ice.
  2. Morning orange juice. 40 ml Aloe Vera Gel in 240 ml freshly squeezed orange juice. The tangy orange covers the taste of natural aloe vera.
  3. Red berry fizz. 40 ml Aloe Berry Nectar, 240 ml chilled sparkling water, a handful of raspberries crushed at the bottom of the glass.
  4. Banana and berry smoothie. Blend a banana, a handful of berries and 200 ml milk or plant drink. Add 40 ml Aloe Berry Nectar just before serving.
  5. Mango lassi. Blend 150 g plain yoghurt, 100 ml water and half a mango in pieces. Add 40 ml Aloe Mango just before serving.
  6. Peach iced tea. Brew a black or green tea and let it cool. Pour 240 ml cold tea over 40 ml Aloe Peaches and ice.
  7. Cucumber and lime. A few cucumber slices and a squeeze of lime in 240 ml cool water, with 40 ml Aloe Vera Gel.
  8. Apple and cinnamon. 240 ml apple juice, a pinch of cinnamon, 40 ml Aloe Vera Gel. A winter version, served cool.

Which gel for which recipe?

  • Aloe Vera Gel, natural: drinks with water and citrus, where its tangy taste disappears.

Good habits

  • Close the bottle and put it back in the fridge straight away.
  • Fruit juices add sugars: water, still or sparkling, remains the simplest everyday base.
  • No piping-hot drinks: pour the gel into a cold or lukewarm drink.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a jug for the whole day?

It is better to make each glass when you drink it and keep the bottle in the fridge. Keep to three 40 ml doses a day at most.

Can I add the gel to a hot drink?

Forever advises diluting it in water or juice. We serve it in cold or lukewarm drinks.

Which flavour is easiest to start with?

Many customers start with Aloe Berry Nectar or Aloe Peaches, milder than the natural Aloe Vera Gel.
